Some of our favorite restaurants to eat at were started a long time ago. Back then, they were just one lonely shop. Now, they have expanded and are dominating the fast-food world. Do you want to know who started these famous restaurants? Keep on reading!

McDonald’s

The founders of the “Golden Arches” are Richard and Maurice McDonald. It was founded in 1940, during the middle of WWII. It all started in San Bernardino, California as a hamburger stand. McDonald’s is the world’s largest restaurant chain, serving 69 million customers a day at their 375,899 restaurants world-wide.

KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken)

Was founded by Colonel Sanders. It all started in 1930 in North Corbin, Kentucky. KFC actually has the fourth largest amount of stores, world-wide. Fun Fact: Up until 1991, KFC was known as Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Taco Bell

Glen Bell is the great founder of Taco Bell. Taco Bell opened on March 21, 1962 in Downey, California. Today there are over 7,000 restaurants world-wide. Their headquarters are in Irvine, California.

Starbucks

Starbucks is INSANELY popular these days, and the person who started it all was actually three people. They were, English teacher Jerry Baldwin, History teacher Zev Siegl, and writer Gordon Bowker. It was founded on March 31, 1971, 46 years ago.

Arby’s

The founders of the delicious Arby’s are Forrest Raffel, and Leroy Raffel. They started this business in Boardman, Ohio. 53 years ago on July 23, 1964 was the day it all began. Arby’s actually has around 74,000 employees!
