Coming to North Korea

Pictured above is the Mass Games

Dear Arianna,

My name is Ryan! I live in North Korea. Today, I am going to prepare for the Mass Games. You’re probably wondering what that is. But I’ll explain that later. I know in America you’ve probably heard horrible, horrible things about our country. But most of that information is false.

So, the Mass games. The Mass Games is one of the biggest events that happens in North Korea. Over 100,000 people prepare for it for 10 months. It is located in Pyongyang, and it lasts for over a month. The performers perform for 6 nights a week. It is a 90 minute show with gymnastics and manmade slideshows.

In North Korea we have a type of government called Communism. Communism is where everyone is paid equally and the government is in complete control. Kim Jong-Un is our leader at the moment. We are told that he is equivalent of a god. Kim Jong-Un is in  a very royal family and it runs in their family! He is very nice and quiet, so we really don’t know if he is happy or mad. Our country is very strict and that’s why everyone thinks our country is so bad. But our leader is just trying to keep us safe.

When you get here, I have tickets already bought for you. You will attend the Mass Games and I will meet you outside the auditorium doors and we will go to my favorite restaurant. There serve noodles and sushi so be prepared! I really hope you enjoy the show.

That’s all I need to tell you! I’m excited to get to meet you and get to know you better. I hope you enjoy what it’s like here but be careful about what you say because who knows who’s listening!

See you soon!

-Ryan
