How To Put Your Hair Up In A Ponytail

Charity Kienast, Reporter

Putting your hair into a ponytail seems really easy, but it is a little more difficult to do than most people think. Getting all of your hair into your ponytail is pretty difficult.

First, you need to get a brush and a hair tie. After that, you need to brush out your hair, because it is a lot harder to put your hair up when it is all tangled, and knotted. For now, you can put your hair tie off to the side of on your wrist because we will not be needing it until the end of the process.Image result for Hair ties and hair brush

After your hair has been brushed, and the knots and tangles are out we will start to form the ponytail. You need to pull all of your hair together. You can make your ponytail as high or as low as you want.

Now, start to pull your hair up so that all of your hair is in a ponytail and that lots of your hair is not out of your ponytail. Once you get all of your hair together, and it is nice and flat to where it is not all bumpy, because it will not look that good if there is a lot of bumps and hairs out of the ponytail.

This is where you will need your hair-tie from earlier. You should have your hair to the height that you want. You need to twist the hair tie in a figure 8 motion around your hair (as shown in the picture above). You need to do this multiple times or until you can no longer wrap the hair tie around your hair anymore.

Now, you should have your hair up and it should be able to pull your hair to tighten it up and it will not be lose any much as it was before. This step is optional, but can result in a cleaner tighter ponytail.

Hopefully this helped you to know how to put your hair in a ponytail. This is not the only way to put your hair in a ponytail but it is the most basic one to learn and teach at the same time.
