Holi

Dear, 7th grader in America
Do you know what Holi celebration is? It’s in India. For more information, keep reading.
“Holi is is a Hindu spring festival celebrated in India and Nepal, also known as the “festival of colors” or the “festival of love”. The festival signifies the victory of good over evil, the arrival of spring, end of winter, and for many a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships” (Wikipedia).
At a Holi celebration is a bunch of paint that you play around in with a lot of people.
In 2018 Holi will begin on Thursday, March 1st and will end on Friday, March 2nd. “Holi normally lasts for only a night and a day, and usually begins on the evening of a full moon day, but the lasting days may vary in different regions. “Holi festival has a very long history, which is mentioned in the Puranas (a vast genre of Indian literature about a wide range of topics), Dasakumara Charita (a prose romance in Sanskrit), and by Kālidāsa (a Classical Sanskrit writer and poet) during the 4th century, and also mentioned in the Ratnavali (a Sanskrit drama) during the 7th century.” “Though Holi is a Hindu religious festival, it has become popular among non-Hindus in many places in South Asia and even outside Asia and has spread to many palaces in North America and Europe in the past few years as a celebration of love, joy, and colors. It is hard to tell how many people celebrate Holi festival” (trip savvy)
If I were able to go to America I would have a version of the Holi festival but name it something different. My version of the Holi festival would be where you can get food and drinks, talk with people, and celebrate life.
In conclusion, I think that holi should be in America because it would be good for America to get together and celebrate life. Also if America did have Holi then you should use natural colors so that no one gets the side effects. If you guys did not want to use color you guys could just have food and drinks to celebrate life.
