Dear, American 7th Grader
Hello, My name is Lee Bahk. I am a 7th grader in North Korea. I really love to write, and I am so excited to be sending you this letter. I will be hitting some major areas that are important to our, country. I will write to you about our leader Kim Jong Un, The Mass Games here in North Korea, and finally our country’s capital Pyongyang. Hope you enjoy.
Starting off with Kim Jong Un he is the Dictator of my country. Kim Jong Un is supposed to be very highly respected in North Korea. Some of my people are against what he is doing, such as executions of his own senior officers. Though they are afraid to speak against his actions. Some of our people believe that he is protecting our country us. I don’t really think that. Kim Jong Un has also threatened people that are against his beliefs with the nuclear bombs.
I should probably lighten the mood now with the Mass Games. The Mass Games is somewhat of a tradition now here in North Korea. The Mass Games were initially started in 2002. It usually starts at the beginning of August and lasts till around September 10. Though it has been canceled in years passed. The Mass Games this year was amazing even though I was not able to go and see it in person as it was broadcast I was in awe. The Mass Games is a special event in which highly trained people, perform for all of North Korea.
The Mass Games and other special events are held in the capitol Pyongyang. The Ryugyong Hotel in Pyongyang is one of the tallest buildings in the world. This particular Hotel has even won a Guinness World Record as the tallest unoccupied building on earth. I don’t live in the city, it’s too crowded for me, I much rather stay where I am in the urban area of North Korea.
I really hope you enjoyed. Though North Korea is somewhat corrupt in a way with Kim Jong Un being our leader. There are some almost magical aspects here, such as the Mass Games. The capital Pyongyang is pretty cool too. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter.
Sincerely,
Lee Bahk
