The Parkland shooting is being called the deadliest school shooting in America. A lot of people think that from now on teachers should be armed with a gun. This would give the teachers more authority, and they would be able to defend themselves, and the students. People think that the Glock 19 would be a great weapon for the teachers to use. I strongly believe that teachers should be armed.

I don’t think that a teacher should be armed with a rifle, but maybe a small caliber pistol would be good enough. In my opinion, a 9mm pistol would be great. They are small, compact, and easy to handle. The Glock 19 is a great handgun that can withstand a lot of abuse to it, and still shoot. The Glock 19 is also a very simple gun, there is a safety control, clip release, and that is about it.

If the teachers all had guns, then they would also have more authority. If a kid was thinking about shooting up the school, then they would have to think twice, because they would be outnumbered by a lot. I don’t think that every teacher should have a gun because that would cost a lot of money, also the school would have to pay for proper gun training. If each school has a sign up sheet for the teachers to go practice on how to use a gun, and their aim then not every teacher would have a gun.

If you really think about it, we protect our president, banks, prisons, etc, with guns but not our school where your children go for 8 hours a day. If we protect our schools with guns then there would be less deaths, just like all the other things I listed.

In conclusion, we should have someone with a gun at our schools. It would help us defend ourselves, and would be a great cause. If this idea doesn’t work then I think that we should start to hire retired military vets.There are over 20 million vets that can’t find jobs in America, and could really benefit from it, plus our school would be getting protection.
