Have you ever wanted to listen to a playlist full of slower songs, but don’t know where to start? Well this article will answer your question. I will include the recommended beat, the type of voice the singer might want to have, transitions, and even one of my own chill playlists.

Step One: Make sure the artist has a soothing or slow sounding voice. You can’t relax to a song where they’re yelling or being loud! I would recommend artists like, Sam Smith, John Legend, and Adele. They all have a somewhat calming and smooth voices; they are perfect for your chill playlist.

Step Two: Choose a song that has a somewhat swaying beat to it. What I mean by that is, if you were to dance to the song, you would dance in a slow swaying motion. These songs are usually calming, or even hypnotic at times. This is awesome for your collection because you won’t be interrupted by a fast paced song.

Step Three: Good transitions between songs are great to have. The songs do not have to have the same beat, but the songs need to have a bit of order. What I mean by order is having the more faster paced songs first and then have it slow down to your slower songs; or vise versa. Even though order is not mandatory, it’s still good to have.

I hope you enjoyed and considered following my steps. Even though all the steps listed aren’t necessary, they’re good to think about when making your own chill playlist. You can even see my chills playlist as an example, on Spotify. Now go out and make your own relaxing playlist!
