Allons-y Azec Leyna: Top 5 Movies with French Connection
April 25, 2018
People all over the world have their favorite movie, and every movie has a story to tell. Have you stopped and think, what is that movie’s story? Today I’ll be telling you the Top 5 Movies that have a French Connection.
#5 Ratatouille
As you probably have seen this movie at least once in your lifetime. This movie is about a rat (Remy) who loves to cook, but is not accepted in his family because he wants to cook instead of being a thief. He achieves his dream with a few struggles along the way. On a 5 star rating of this show I would give it a 3 ½ out of 5 stars, because it was funny and very adventurous but not what I would say it has qualities of a perfect movie. Now you are probably wondering what does this have to do with Paris or French related things well, this movie was set in Paris. If you look closely you can see in one of the scenes Ratatouille (the main character) is looking out the window and you can see the Eiffel Tower.
#4 Aristocats
Now this movie is a classic Disney Movie, and, I truly believe, is one of the best. This movie is about a wealthy retired opera singer who plans on giving her inheritance to her cat, Duchess, and Duchess’s kittens. The plans change when the butler overheard the owner talking about how much the inheritance was. The butler puts a sleep pill in the cats milk and then he takes them away to the countryside, where they have to find their way back home in time. Along the way the wealthy family of cats make friends and have an adventure. On a 5 star rating of this movie I would rate it a 4 out of 5, because of how vibrant the movie is with all the music and colors but I would make the movie a bit longer by showing the more parts of the adventure that the cats had. The connection that this movie has with Paris is that is you listen to the dialogue with some of the characters you can hear them speaking French, you hear them say simple French words such as Mademoiselle, and Monsieur.
#3 Hunchback of Notre Dame
You most likely have seen this movie and know the connection it has with Paris. The Notre Dame Cathedral is a Catholic church and is the very key to this movie. This movie is about a disfigured bellringer that goes by the name Quasimodo. He has lived in the Notre Dame since he was found by the churches steps. Quasimodo yearns to go out and see people but his master, Frollo, won’t allow it because Quasimodo is different than others. Quasimodo sneaks out to go to the Festival of Fools, and then falls in love with the gypsy, Esmeralda. This movie is a fantastic movie to watch and I would honestly rate it a 4 ½ out of 5, it was a great movie but for those who don’t want a movie that will make you cry then this movie isn’t really the best.
#2 A Monster in Paris
Now this movie is quite interesting, it’s about a bug who was enlarged by a scientist’s apprentice. The residents of Paris are trying to find the bug and capture him before it’s to0 late. A singer from a restaurant happens to run into the monstrosity, but soon realized that the bug was a sweetheart and only wanted to play music. This movie is so good that you’ll most likely watch it again and again. I would rate this a 4 out of 5 because it had some parts in the movie when it isn’t that great but overall it was really good. The connection in this movie is that they both speak the language and you can obviously see the Notre Dame in the background in one of the scenes.
#1 Beauty and The Beast
Whether it’s the live version or the original disney classic, I’m sure you probably have seen this movie or at least heard about it. This movie is about a girl named Belle who search for something more than what is provided in the town she lives in. That all changes when her father gets kidnapped by a beast. Belle saves her father by taking his place of eternal living with the beast. This is my absolutely favorite movie, both the animated and live action movie. I would rate this movie a 5 out of 5 because of the music, actors and how well the movie quality was. The connection between Paris and this film is that it was original a classic French Tale and they speak french.
In conclusion, all these movies have a connection with Paris, and they are quite enjoyable to watch. For more movies that have a connection with French culture go to this website. Profite du spectacle!
