You’ve probably heard about the Rotary Interact Club, but do you know all about what they do and why they do it? Today I am going to be telling you about why they are selling popsicles, and who it will benefit.

First, I am going to tell you why they are selling popsicles. According to Cadence Butler, (a member of the club) stated, “We are selling popsicles to help the Rohingya refugees. They are victims of ethnic cleansing. There are more than 800,000 children in refugee camps”. This is definitely a great reason to sell popsicles!

The popsicles will sell for $1.00 each and will be sold in the cafetorium at lunch, starting Tuesday, April 23 until they sell out. “All the money is going to UNICEF (United Nations International Children’s Fund), and they will donate it to the refugees.” Cadence told me. “The children in these camps make up 60% of the people there. It’s sickening to think about it, to know that these children have been forced from their homes and lives, to start over in places that don’t even have clean water, a house, and school” Cadence continues to share.

I personally bought one of these popsicles, and I got a purple grape flavored one. They are the ice pops that come in the tube. Mine was delicious, and it seemed that they were a popular treat! The person took my money, and instantly put it in the box. Then the volunteer handing out the popsicles asked me what color I would like, and cut it open for me. They were very positive and time efficient. Overall, they made $710.75 from the sale! That is definitely a success!

The Rotary Interact Club is raising money for the Rohingya refugees. They are selling popsicles at lunch for $1.00 each. There are a variety of colors and flavors, and I hope you might be able to support the refugees by buying a popsicle at lunch.
