Chinese New Year Animals

Harmony Williams, Jr. Reporter

Ever wondered if there are animals in some holidays? Well, I got 3 holidays with animals in them. Chinese New Year, Surn Elephant Round-Up, and Pushkar Camel Fair. Let’s start with number 3!

Chinese New Year; Chinese New Year is the most colorful holiday in China! Chinese New Year starts at the first day of the Chinese calendar. The holiday lasts for 15 days and marks a new year. The new year resembles happiness, wealth, and luck. The animal meanings are the year your born and you are that animal.

Surn Elephant Round-Up; The people of Suay gathered and trained elephant for centuries. Once the elephants training is complete, the trainers, know as Mahout’s, do a fantastic show for the people. The elephants even play tug-of-war! The holiday ends with a dazzling parade afterwards.

Pushkar Camel Fair; Rajasthan, India has very important Hindu traditions. There is a story of 3 Hindu Holidays in the sound already. For centuries they celebrated this holiday, and they are happy about their culture. Thousands of herders gather camels to sell and buy camels. How cruel to camel kind.

Holidays are interesting for many people. Holidays that makes us happy are really good holidays. I hope you liked my story and learned something, too! Have a great day everyone!
