You are about to enter the world of cheesecake. You will experience the delightful smell of cheesecake and the luxuracy taste of cheesecake in your mouth. You will learn about how cheesecake was born, the biggest cheesecake ever made, and my recipe for the best cheesecake ever. You will probably have to go buy a cheesecake after this.

Cheesecake is believed to have originated in ancient Greece. Historians say cheesecake was served to the athletes during the first Olympic Games held in 776 B.C. “However, cheese making could be traced back as far as 2,000 B.C.,  because historians have found molds that they think were used for cheesecake in 2,000 B.C.”, (Cheesecake.com).

At the ninth annual Cream Cheese Festival in Lowville, N.Y., pastry chef and Food Network star Duff Goldman, created a 6,900-pound cheesecake. “It was 90.25 inches in diameter and nearly 31 inches deep —that’s about 24,533 servings!”, (Huffpost, Weird News). In total it took a whopping nineteen hours to make. Now that takes the cake.

Now for my own recipe for Chicago Cheesecake. The ingredients you will need are 1 and 1/2 lb. cream cheese, 1 cup of sugar, 3 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 2 lined pie shells (graham or shortbread). Preheat the oven to 375. Beat cream cheese; then add sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Fill lined tins and bake for 20 minutes. Let cool before serving.

In conclusion, cheesecakes have been around for centuries. Over time they have gotten bigger and better. They have even weighed 6,900 pounds! Now you can make your own “mini” cheesecake.
