The first cell phone was created in 1973 by Martin Cooper. The phone Martin Cooper used, if you could call it that, weighed a staggering 1.1kg. With this prototype device, you got 30 minutes of talk-time and it took around 10 hours to charge. The dimensions of the first phone was 2.5 lbs and measured 9 inches long, 5 inches deep and 1.75 inches wide.
The first Motorola model to support the clamshell design was the MicroTAC, created in 1989, also known as the first ever flip phone. It was the first phone you can transport in your pocket place to place. The dimensions of the phone was 94 mm by 55 mm by 19 mm. When they first released the portable phone it flew off the shelves everyone loved it.
On January 9, 2007, Steve Jobs announced iPhone at the Macworld convention. Jobs announced that the first iPhone would be released later that year. On June 29, 2007, the first iPhone was released. Greg Packer bought the first ever touchscreen IPhone. The first IPhone was purchased for 499$ for 4 GBs. The dimensions of the first IPhone was 4.5 in H 2.4 in W 0.46 in.
