My Chemical Romance

My Chemical Romance, in their iconic Black Parade uniforms.

Beware: This band you will either forever fall for, or you will just click off the music because you don’t like them. But this is your warning right here that you may forever be pulled towards the sounds of Gerard Way’s voice. And if you look deep enough at the lyrics you can see the true message in their songs.

My Chemical Romance is an early 2000’s punk band. Or as some people like to call it, “emo”. I personally don’t think that if you listen to this it will make you an “emo”. Now that you have the gist of that, another piece of important information is that My Chemical Romance is also no longer a band, they sadly broke up on March 22, 2013. But they had been a band for 12 years, producing 4 original albums. Their most recognized song is one that you have probably heard of: “Welcome to the Black Parade”.

Speaking of the songs they have created! My Chemical Romance have created a ton of songs, some more violent than others. As in they may be not so pleasant to a majority of people. Also, a few of them can be quite explicit. I honestly think you should look past the yelling and cursing in their music, because if you actually look into the lyrics they actually have a really good message. For example, in Famous Last Words it talks about the person Gerard is singing about, possibly himself,  going to leave no matter what the person does because it’s his duty in life. But it is portrayed in a semi-violent way.

You can pretty much find their music on anything you listen to your music on. Here are the links for: Pandora, YouTube, and Spotify. You can really find their music anywhere, since they have been around for quite some time. Beware, some songs have a lot of screaming (well, loud yelling) in them. And again, can be very explicit and maybe sometimes not the happiest of messages. But if you look past all of that, you can see the deep message in their music.

Now that you know about My Chemical Romance, I really recommend going and listening to them if you are interested. Yes, they can be a little violent and explicit, but they are so good because sometimes you can see it from his point of view. And that can make those songs so beautiful while being so angry. I hope they maybe help you get through something, like they did for me.
