Earth Day
April 16, 2019
On Monday, April 22, many people will celebrate Earth Day by recycling, planting trees, and trying to make a cleaner environment. Others celebrate this day by staying off of electronics, walking instead of using their cars, and spending time outside. In 1970, Gaylord Nelson the senator of Wisconsin thought that something should be done about the state the environment was in and how the issue was being discussed in media or politics. Then on April 22, 1970, he and numerous others held the first Earth Day and it has since become an annual holiday.
