Brooklynn Ruiz, Contributer

I am a twelve year old girl that is participating in Mr.Hawleys class “World Studies” where it combines Language Arts and Social Studies. For our first project we are doing a interview to get a partner’s perspective about EMS. My interviewee(partner) Emelie Weast. In the story below I asked Emelie questions about EMS. Below are my questions that I asked and her answers that were responded back.

B.R: Hi Emelie my name is Brooklynn

E.W: Hi Brooklynn!

B.R: I work for the EMS Sound in World Studies and would you like me to interview you. And is it ok if I can record you for the questions?

EW: Ya

B.R: Ok, the first question I have for you is what would you change about Emporia Middle School?

E.W: Probably passing period, because the  6th, 7th, and 8th graders have different time schedules, but that would be the 1 thing that I would change.

B.R: Ok, How do you feel about the teachers?

E.W: I really liked my teachers. In 6th grade they were all nice and encouraging and i’m still getting used to my 7th grade teachers so I can’t say just yet.

B.R: Ok, what do you like about the Emporia Middle School?

E.W: Probably that I can see my friends a lot which is 1 thing. And I just get to learn new stuff daily, it’s pretty cool.

B.R: Ok, What do you think that is the most important hard class and why?

E.W: Probably Math I never really liked math but it pushes beyond our limits and it’s so you actually learn something.

B.R: What do you feel about the environment of Emporia Middle School?

E.W: It’s nice I mean it doesn’t feel isolated or anything you always feel you have a place

B.R: What are your feeling towards the school year?

E.W: Well, so far it’s gone really good I haven’t heard that many rumours and bullying and stuff like that. I hope it stays that way!

B.R: Ok, what’s your favorite school activity if you do activities after school or do something else?

E.W: After school last year I did the reading and writing club since I like to read and write, and probably my favorite subject is art cause I like to draw and just do art.

B.R: What do you recommend in the classes?

E.W: Well in science, my science teacher gave me a packet, and well it was difficult. They just didn’t hand you the answers like most packets do. I really enjoy that I was looking for the answer so that’s something I recommend.

B.R: Ok, What do you feel about your schedule changing?

E.W: It was really messed up like when I got it changed.” “I was kind of confused [because] of the bells but I will adjust to it.

B.R: What would you do if you were a principal for a week?

E.W: I would probably change lunch a little bit either let people sit where they want to but that would depend on their behavior like it does a lot of times.

B.R: What are some of your feelings about negativities/rumours this year?

E.W: I haven’t heard that many negativity this year so far but there is most likely going to be drama and stuff like that.

B.R: What about 6th grade?

E.W: I always focused on what I had to do not on what other people did so I was always good to not go through drama.

B.R: Well thank you for your time for the interview and thank you for answering questions!

E.W: I had a great time!
