USD 253 earthquake drills have become a standard for our schools. A 4.5 magnitude earthquake hit Hutchinson, which did damage to some schools. More Earthquakes are happening often in Kansas, so our district wants to keep us safe and prepare for an earthquake.

Usually, the U.S. receives relatively smaller magnitude earthquakes, but the biggest recorded in the world is a 9.5 magnitude earthquake in Chile. Our district will be doing earthquake drills during the fall, 2020-2021 school year.
