Have you ever wanted to act? If you haven’t thought about being an actor you should try to act. You can get to know people and they’re amazing personalities. You can have fun messing around. You can be yourself and be someone else. Well, here is your answer. Here are the top 4 things you need to know.
Volume
You need to make sure that you are a bit louder than you are supposed to if you are in a theater. With some words, you need to add emphasis to show that word is important or to make sure that it sounds better. You need to be able to show your emotions through your voice.
Face
Sit in front of a mirror and practice all the simple expressions like sad, mad, and happy. If you think you got it down, practice a bit more. You can never be sure. Get someone you know can tell you if you are not doing good, then practice one that isn’t as known. When you need to be sad or you need to cry, think of something happening to someone or something close to you.
Memory
You will need to remember all of your lines blocking and things that will happen. If you don’t remember these, it is going to be Embarrassing and will ruin the shot or the whole play. One Way you can memorize them is to practice them with friends or family. Another way that I learn, is to say it multiple times to myself out loud or in my head.
Confidence
You need to have confidence. If you are not confident in yourself, then you might not try as hard. A lot of people aren’t confident and then will forget the words or bolting. They may not be loud enough so just believe in yourself. One way to get confidence is to give yourself a compliment every day. Another is to be yourself don’t hide who you are. You are amazing and you need to show that you have confidence.
Those are the top 4 things you need to know to be an actor. Make sure to keep practicing or you won’t get better. I hope these help you get a role in a play or in class.
