The Epic (FAIL)

Have you ever just wanted to do something right away because it was exciting and you didn’t want to wait for instructions or a slow test run? Well… I might have some experience with this.
It wasn’t a normal day. It was around new years when I was woken up by my mother on a cold morning. It was around 5:30 a.m. and I was very tired but I thought to myself, do I want to go snowboarding or do I want to stay at home and sleep in? Well, the obvious and only choice was to go with my family and have fun snowboarding. After all, snowboarding is awesome. The night before the trip we gathered our clothes, hats and gloves and went to bed and my mom was saying, “hurry and get to bed you won’t want to be tired in the morning “. After we ate breakfast the next day, we hit the road.
On our road trip we had many snacks and drinks. We were very excited for the trip and wanted to get there A.S.A.P. It was so hard to wait 8.5 hours to get there, but the hardest part was when we could see the mountains but were still so far out. We got there a day early to see where we were going and to make sure that we could get our snowboards rented in time, because it can take hours and hours. We also rented a hotel room and spent the rest of the day there. The next Day we got up, ate breakfast and went to the mountain. After we got to the mountain, we picked up our snowboarding gear and waited for my dad to tell us what to do, once he told us the technique we got on a lift (A bench that takes you to the top of the mountain) And headed up the mountaintop.
And this is where it all started. We got going slow and I don’t know why or how I did it at this point but I just went rocketing down the range.Getting to the bottom fast. I needed to figure out how to stop and fast so I thought and I thought fast I kept telling myself lean back to slow down, LEAN BACK TO SLOW DOWN!!! So, as you would understand, I leaned back, but I leaned back too far and unfortunately for me I was still going fast, fell on my rear THUMP and skipped across the snow and ice.Boy did that hurt! The last couple of hours of snowboarding I had to try my hardest to not fall down. That was very hard to do but I managed. That night I’d thought I wasn’t going to get any sleep but by the time I got to bed I was too tired to notice.I actually got some ok sleep. The last day of snowboarding was fun but painful at the same time but at the end it was all worth it. That night we packed and went to bed. After we all woke up we put our things in the car and hit the road for the second time and went home. On the way home we had lunch and dinner and got home about 9:30 so yes a long……. drive.
We love going snowboarding and usually go every year. I am pretty good after a couple of years of practice, (if I do say so myself) but that doesn’t matter.
