Next week on Monday, January 18th, students here at EMS (Emporia Middle School) will not have school because of one great man, Martin Luther King Jr. MLK Jr. was alive from 1929-1968. He was a protester for African American freedom in the USA. MLK was sadly assassinated on April 4th, 1968, and that taught people that African Americans are people that deserve the same rights as everyone else. This year for MLK day, what will you do? Maybe say a quick prayer for MLK that he may live in peace knowing that he had helped the lives of so many people.
