Martin Luther King Jr. Day was about a man who was leading the civil rights movement. Mr. King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta Georgia. Mr. K was a baptist minister and social activist who led the civil rights movement in the United States from the mid-1950s until his death by assassination in 1968. Mr. K ended legal segregation in the south and other parts of the USA. Mr. K gave lots of speeches on how black and white people are the same. One of the speeches was in Washington, this famous event is also known as The March On Washington 1963. Mr. K was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964
