Are you closer with your immediate family or extended? Do you have a favorite family member? Are you an only child? Everybody’s family looks different but there is always something that brings them together.

The 1st type of family I will talk about is the immediate family. Everybody’s immediate family looks different. It can have 1 parent, 2 parents, 4 parents and it can have 1 kid, 2 kids, or even 10! Families can be very diverse and there is no such thing as a “perfect family”. Some families have step mothers, step fathers, half sisters, or half brothers and they are still considered immediate family. Immediate families can also include pets as in dogs,cats, birds, and even fish!

The 2nd type of family I will be talking about is extended family. Extended family can include cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Some people have a lot of aunts and uncles and other people don’t even have any at all. This would happen if your mom and/or father was an only child.

Now lastly, I will talk about family friends. A family friend is somebody who has been friends with your family for a long time. A family friend is not somebody who is related to you but feels like it. Family friends can also be a whole family or just 1 person. It can be a neighbor or a friend of your parents.

There are multiple categories of family. You might not have a big family or a little family but they will always be with you your whole life. Even though not all of your family is blood related or has the same last name you should appreciate them. I know I do. There are places to spend time with your family.
