Have you ever wondered what the best candies in the U.S are. Well today I will be talking about the top 5 candies and how they became the best. I came up with this idea because almost everybody has a favorite candy and I was curious to know which were the best and how they got their beginning. In this article I chose Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Skittles, M&M’s, Starbursts, and Sour Patch Kids because they are among my favorites.

REESE’S PEANUT BUTTER CUPS

Let’s start off with Reese’s peanut butter cups. Reese Peanut butter cups are a classic combination of peanut butter and chocolate. It is also one of the United States’ favorite candies. Reese’s Peanut Butter cups were actually made by a man that worked for Hershey’s chocolate company in 1928 named Harry Burtnett. You can purchase this candy at local gas stations, Walmarts and other grocery stores.

SKITTLES

Now onto the next candy, Skittles. Skittles are button sized, multi colored , fruit flavored candies. There are so many different types of skittles and flavors to choose from like tropical, sour and many others. you can get the color you like the most. And if you like two colors . You can get Skittles at local stores, gas stations and stores.

M&MS

For our third candy we have M&M’s. M&Ms are also a multi -colored, button shaped, candy. Unlike Skittles, M&M are chocolate inside of a hard candy shell, and  all of the colors of the M&Ms taste the same. M&Ms started up during World War II and have been producing and making tons of money since the beginning of the company. Now You can get these M&Ms at local stores, gas stations, and other stores

STARBURSTS

The next candy is Starbursts. Starbursts are a box-shaped, fruit-flavored taffy treat. They also are one of the best fruit flavored candies in the world also coming in many different flavors. Starburst started in the United Kingdom although under a different name; the Opal fruits. Although they started in the U.K, Mars company introduced them to the U.S. In the US they were originally called M&M Fruit chewies, later changing to Starbursts. Now You can buy Starburst at gas stations, and grocery stores near you.

SOUR PATCH KIDS

Our final candy is sour patch kids. Sour patch kids are gummy, sour and sweet all in one bite. Sour patch kids have so many different flavors, colors, and shapes. Unlike other candies, sour patch kids have a sour and sweets combo. They got their start in Ontario, Canada where they were called Mars men and shaped like martians because of the space craze in the 1970’s. Now you can purchase these sour patch kids at all your local stores.
