In 2021 Americans were expected to spend 3 Billion or more on Halloween candy. I mean, that’s a lot of candy! And sometimes they aren’t even candy! One of the worst foods you can find in your candy bags is pretzels. I mean pretzels aren’t even candy! So now that you know one of the worst things to get in your candy bag, here are some of the best.

Number 5 on my list is going to be a Starburst. A Starburst is a fruity chewy candy that usually comes with 4 different flavors. Starburst ‘s made the list because it is a very popular Halloween candy but it isn’t the best because they lack chocolate and are not as soft as other fruity candies. A fun fact about Starburst is that they used to be called ‘ opal fruits’.

Number 4 on my list is M&M’s. M&M’s are a small chocolate candy covered in a colorful hard outer shell. M&M’s made the list because they are a nice small snack and easy to eat but they lack the peanut and caramel most chocolate candies have. A fun fact is that red M&M’s disappeared for a decade because the Dye they used at the time was linked to cancer.

Number 3 on my list is Sour Patch Kids. Sour Patch Kids are a soft fruity gummy covered in sour sugar. Sour Patch Kids are on the list because they are a nice tart fruity candy but they lack chocolate which is a big factor these days. A fun fact is that Sour Patch Kids are inspired by Cabbage Patch Kids.

Number 2 on my list is Snickers. Snickers is a piece of “nougat” with peanuts covered in caramel and all that is covered in chocolate. Snickers are on the list because they have many flavors but most people think that the next candy is a little bit better than this candy. Did you know that the Snickers bar was named after a horse.

Number 1 on my list is a Reese’s peanut butter cup. Reese’s are a peanut butter cup covered in rich chocolate. Reese’s are a fan favorite in many places, especially the USA. Fun fact: Reese’s first became popular in 1928.

This is a pretty accurate list. Just remember free candy is free candy. Always make sure you stay safe and be cautious about open candy and razor blades. I’m sorry if your favorite candy isn’t on the list, there was only room for 5. If KitKats are your favorite candy here’s a video on how they are made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajQSYL9afy0
