Going to DisneyLand

Jenna Brown, Jr. Reporter

Have you ever been to Disneyland? Well, I have. If you have never heard of it, it’s in Anaheim, California.

I was 8 years old and my grandparents took me and my cousin to Disneyland.  On the way there we went to this place called the Blue Hole in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. The Big Blue Hole is one of the most popular diving destinations in the U.S, it is 81 foot deep. We did not know you could pay $5 to swim in it so we just watched people and took pictures. On the way there we went to the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon is located in Arizona, and the Grand Canyon is 270 miles of rock layers that reveal the timeline of Earth.

We arrived in California after four days of driving. When we got there we went to visit my grandparent’s friend’s that we call nana. We took a bus there and when we got to Disneyland we had to pick between the new or old side of the park, and my cousin and I chose the new side.  Some of the rides we rode were, Mickey’s Fun Wheel, Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree, Radiator Springs Racer, and a lot more but out of those my favorite was the Radiator Springs Racer. Radiator Springs Racer is, you get in a car that seats 4 people and you go through tunnels and see things from the movie cars next, you meet another car and you race on a track and there is a finish line.  We stayed in California for two weeks and almost every night my grandpa took me and my cousin swimming.

On the way home my grandparents got a lot of water and me and my cousin would drink a lot so every time we saw a rest stop we stopped. Usually, at the rest stops they had cool things you could do. Once we got back to Kansas me and my cousin took a picture in front of the sign that says welcome to Kansas. They had a stop that had a store and inside was things about Kansas and a gift shop.

In the end, my grandparents, cousin and I had fun! Someday I hope to go back. Someday I hope you get to go too.
