Have you ever had a pet? Well, if you haven’t, then I would go get one as it can help with a lot of things. One thing that it can help with is making friends when going on walks with your pet. So, here are the facts of why every family should have a pet because having a pet makes kids more patient. It can improve your physical and mental health, and they help children grow social skills!

Having a pet gives kids more patience. This information is from the MSU Extension. It says, “Pets teach children valuable life lessons like responsibility, trust, compassion, respect, and patience.”  It means that It helps with patience which can help with waiting in lines or at a park.

It can improve your physical and mental health now I got that from them  The Insider, “Owning a pet can positively impact not only your health but also your lifestyle.” This is saying that owning a pet can positively impact your health by making you go on short walks every day and more.

Pets help children grow social skills. According to this website called Farmers Almanac, “A childhood pet is often our first and best friend. Pets teach us how to develop close, relational bonds with those that we spend the most time with. Positive interaction with a pet helps children form good social skills.” Meaning that a pet helps with our social skills with kids, friends, and family.

Those are 3 reasons with some more information on why every family should have a pet. The reasons are, having a pet makes kids have more patience, it can improve your physical and mental health, and they help children grow social skills. I know that you can say that “My family never had a pet and we are doing better than ever!” and I know, but pets are meant to improve not carry you. Now I would go adopt a pet from I&I or the pound, and also if you want a good starting pet go to Paige Newland’s story
