Uniforms are useless and not helpful at all. Do you agree?
Today we will be talking about how school uniforms should not be required in Emporia Middle School. The first reason is that uniforms can be expensive.Another reason that students lose the freedom to express who they are with their outfits. The final reason is that it has been proven that uniforms do not help in an academic way.

The first reason that uniforms shouldn’t be required at Emporia Middle School is According to smartasset.com, “Often, uniforms are only available from a limited number of suppliers and the lack of competition (and captive market) keeps prices high. Or, a uniform will include pricier items like blazers and dress shoes, which some families might struggle to afford.” This means that some uniforms brands can be expensive and some families may not have the right amount to be able to purchase this cost. But also some schools do organize secondhand sales so that all the students can wear uniforms and no one is left out.

Reason #2 According to liveabout.com, “Many students who are against school uniforms argue that they lose their self-identity when they lose their right to express themselves through fashion.” This means that children won’t be able to express themselves and many arguments have said that wearing uniforms can lead to children losing their self-identity. Schools allow students to add accessories which makes it easier for the students to express themselves.

Reason #3 Data: According to uniformmarket.com, “Evidence suggests that while uniforms may reduce distractions, they do not necessarily enhance academic performance. Statistics show that schools with uniforms did not show statistically significant improvements in test scores or academic performance compared to those without.” This means that uniforms are not beneficial in an academic way and school is a learning place where it should focus on what will help our education. Schools understand that it doesn’t help their education but it will help prevent students wearing inappropriate clothing.
