Has there been an experience at a restaurant that has been so good your parents tipped the waitress more than usual? Or so bad you had to ask for the manager? Well, today I’m going to talk about a really good experience at a restaurant called 627 in Emporia ks.
Food
People may have one bad experience at a restaurant, so they never go again. At this restaurant I have had a bad experience, but that never stops me from going again. Their food has pros and cons to it. Three pros of their food are they come out hot, they always come as you ordered, and the drinks are always amazing. The best experience I’ve had was that the food I ordered was out of this world. I ordered a lemonade as my drink, it came out cold and fresh. As an appetizer I ordered chips, queso, and salsa, and let me tell you 627’s salsa is better than traditional salsa. It was sweet, but at the same time it was enough spice to even out the sweetness. For my main course I ordered a hand breaded chicken strip basket. It came with two hand breaded chicken strips, and a handful of french fries. Now let me tell you those hand breaded chicken strips are the best things you could ever eat when you’re cold. The lemonade was $4 (free refills), fries were a part of the chicken strips, the hand breaded chicken fingers were $13 for two and $15 for three, and the chips, queso, and salsa were $8. In total for me alone was $17, and with the chips, salsa, and queso (I only ate half and my family ate the rest) was $25.
Customer service
My experience at 627 didn’t just have good food. Our server got a huge tip. She was persistent with coming over to the table to ask how the food was and if we needed anything. She was ridiculously polite too. It took about thirty minutes for our food to come out. I think part of the reason it came out so early was because there were barely any people there. When we were about to leave she asked if we needed any boxes too.
Ambiance
The night that me and my family went was Thursday. On Thursdays they have trivia. It was after one of my basketball games so my friends went too. They host trivia upstairs so that’s where we went. Upstairs they have their event space. It has a bar, several couches, pool tables, games, a Juke box, and two TV’s. The walls looked very freshly painted green and white, while one of the four walls surrounding us were white bricks. My parents and friend’s parents sat on the tall tables while all of us kids were sitting on the couches with large coffee tables where we put our food and played games while we waited for our food. When trivia started the LED’s around the room would turn different colors to set the mood. That night the theme was Disney. They had a speaker set up with a microphone so we could hear them reading out the questions. The room was kept clean the whole time except when one of my friends’ little brothers spilt Mr. Pib all over the floor.
Overall, I would have given this experience a 10/10 because of the food, customer service, and ambiance. I had such an amazing time eating, playing games, and spending time with my friends in a great environment. If you ever want to experience the same thing I did 627’s address is 627 Commercial St, Emporia, Kansas 66801.
