Today I am going to be reviewing my great-grandma’s recipe. Her famous chocolate chip cookies that we have had in our family for more than 45 years. They are old-fashioned, gooey, delicious, and nostalgic. Fun fact: The chocolate chip cookie was invented by accident in 1938 by Ruth Wakefield.
The cookies are pretty easy to make, but you could make a mistake when you are baking and/or mixing the ingredients. They are super fun to make and really helpful if you want to make memories or just make a snack. But also sometimes I feel like they were so cleverly made, as if they took months to make.
The cookies…… When I first bit into the chocolate chip cookies, I was filled with joy as if I went back in time to the first time I tried them. They were just the right amount of chewy with a little bit of salt to it. The chocolate chips were melty, gooey, and there was just the perfect amount of chocolate chips; not too much but not too little. The chocolate chips were so perfectly gooey that it dripped out of the cookie after I took a bite. So as I ate the rest of the cookie it was pure nostalgia and pure happiness.
The chocolate chip cookies didn’t look absolutely perfect, but that’s how you know they were made with love. They were a perfect golden brown though, and you could see the chocolate chips peeking through the top of the cookie. There are many different types of chocolate chip cookies, like browned butter for nuttiness, double chocolate (cocoa-based dough), peanut butter, oatmeal, and specialized diet options like vegan or gluten-free chocolate chip cookies and Etc. There are also many different ways that other people’s families make chocolate chip cookies. Whether you prefer crunchy, chewy, or extra chocolate chips, everyone has a different version of chocolate chip cookies. But personally, I think that as long as you enjoyed making them, that is all that matters.
Chocolate chip cookies are one of the many things my mom and I like to make together, it is just one of those nostalgic things we like to do. They were absolutely excellent and I can barely wait to eat another one. The best part about these cookies was the fact that the cookies are my great grandma’s recipe, but sadly, I wasn’t making them with my great grandma. These were very nostalgic for me, and I can’t wait to make them again.
