Dear Emporia,

I want to point out three specific places in Emporia, that really need the road redone. There are many more than the ones below, but these are heavily traveled. I hope you might consider redoing these. (These are not in order of how bad they are).

#3 9th Avenue

9th Avenue is extremely difficult to travel down. This road is used constantly all day long. It is horribly bumpy and feels like a roller coaster-and not a good one. I feel that commuters are constantly challenged on this road, and not in a good way. This road would definitely improve daily commutes, because this road leads to many full neighborhoods. This road should particularly be redone from the Garfield St. intersection, to the West St. intersection. I hope you consider repaving this road.

#2  W. 12th Avenue

12th Avenue is traveled a lot by people going out of town, to the industrial side of town, or to school. This road is bumpy, and also a hazard because it is partially a hill. It mainly needs redone from the Prairie St. Intersection, to the Industrial Rd. Intersection. This would most definitely cause a temporary inconvenience, but it would be much safer and easier to drive on afterwards. Emporia, please also consider repaving this road.

#1 W. 15th Avenue

This road is another busy and commonly traveled road. There are lots of neighborhoods, multiple schools, and some businesses on this road. This road is incredibly rough and also hard to drive on. Personally, my mother and I almost spill our drinks every time we drive here. This road is not the greatest in general, but there is a certain area that needs redone the most. That is from the Walnut St. intersection, to the Lincoln St. intersection. Again, please truly consider redoing this road.

Emporia,

There are many roads in town that are not well kept, and also heavily traveled. I listed three above that I hope you will consider repaving. A lot of these are used daily by commuters. Including, students, buses, citizens, teachers, workers, managers, and many, many more. I do understand that this will be costly, but it will also be worthwhile. This may cause temporary inconvenience, but I think that is better than permanent annoyance.  I truly hope that after reading this you will consider fixing up these roads in Emporia.

Sincerely,

Lenia Crouch
