Dear American 7th grader,

I am a 7th grader in North Korea and I am preparing for the mass games. You might be wondering,” what are the mass games?”. Well the mass games are a big gymnastics show. But it’s no small show, it’s huge! Now you could also be thinking “why are these mass games such a big deal”. Well it is very important to our culture, we have done this for many years, and it’s just really cool. Since It’s such a big event, over 100,000 people participate in it. It’s so popular other countries have joined in like Guyana, Germany, and even Japan. My favorite part of the mass games is the largest picture, it happens every mass game at 7:00 pm and the people all form a picture of individual students who participated in the making. I want to participate in the mass games because I feel if I were to be in such a big and spectacular event I would get recognized and be noticed by many people. Anyway I hope you are doing good and hope to hear back from you again.

Sincerely, Your Asia Pen Pal
