Zella Day is a modern day artist who isn’t all that big. I personally think that she should be a lot more known. Even though this artist has not come out with any new music in about three years, more people should explore her music. You will get to read into a bit about how her music sounds, one of her best songs, and then where to find her music.

Zella Day’s music isn’t all that different from what we hear every day on the radio. For example, all the breaks in the lyrics to help the instrumental part shine through. Even though all artists have their own sound you kinda have to admit her songs sound like the majority of what’s out now instead of something new. Something a little unique is that her music doesn’t sound like it’s completely automated, more real instruments. Then another thing that is different with Zella’s music is that there are quite a few of her songs, they turn pretty dark. For example, in her song Shadow Preacher one of the first lines is “If I stop trying, we start dying. You’re cutting me out, baby who you fighting?” shows a normal relationship falling apart, but adds some of her darkness to it.

My personal favorite song by Zella Day is East of Eden. This is because in the beginning of the song, it’s completely different once you start getting into it. Like, the whole mood changes and kinda the main idea does too, depending on how you hear it. And again, it kinda slowly gets a dark vibe. Another really great thing about this song is that when you hit the chorus it’s kinda like an emotional punch. The words have more emotion and you can really hear it in her voice.  Which in my mind is the best thing to have in a song.

A couple of her songs that I recommend you listening to are Hypnotic, Shadow Preachers, and of course  East of Eden. These songs kinda have the same vibe to them (dark love) but they are still a couple of the best.

As you can see, Zella’s music isn’t all that different from most of the popular music we listen to today.  She just isn’t all that big and hasn’t come out with a lot of new stuff in a while.
