Emporia Middle School looked into a school; Horizon High School in Salt Lake City. Horizon High School runs a little different. They are able to focus on whatever class they’d like to work on. Emporia Middle School loved that idea, so they tried to involve in school. However they can turn the whole school like that, they made a class that involved that system. In 2017, they opened the new class. Students have weekly Vocab Cards, Reading Guide, and quick writes. Every other week they have a new story to write. They also have promotions, like a contributor, jr reporter, reporter, etc.
