There are so many companies in the US. Have you ever wondered which ones are the top 5? This story will tell you the top 5 companies in the US and what they are. You will probably recognize most of the companies but there are some cool facts that you might not know that I will share in this story. The top 5 I will be talking about are Walmart, Exxon Mobil, Apple, Berkshire Hathaway, and Amazon.

      5. Amazon

Amazon is the 5th company in the US after Berkshire Hathway. Amazon is a huge shopping site owned by Jeff Bezos and it has been around since May 1996. Amazon pretty much has all the items you need, like Walmart, except not all the food and drinks. It is an online store but the headquarters are in Seattle, Washington. I love getting stuff on Amazon and I recommend it for you!

      4. Berkshire Hathaway

The next company is ranked in fourth place, Berkshire Hathaway. Berkshire Hathaway is a company that is a holder of other companies. The person who runs the company is Warren Buffet. He has run it since 1962, that’s 57 years! The headquarters are in Omaha Nebraska. If you ever want to go and see their headquarters, then Omaha is the place to go.

      3. Apple

Everybody knows about the company, Apple. Apple is the third-ranked company in the US. Apple sells all kinds of electronics from iPods to Mac books to the new iPhone 11 pro. Apple creates all these products and makes a huge amount of money every year. According to theverge, “Apple today reported its fiscal third-quarter 2019 earnings, earning $53.8 billion in revenue and earnings per share of $2.18” That is a lot of money and the year isn’t even over yet. If you ever want a new phone or tablet, Apple is the place to go!

      2. ExxonMobil

The second company is the gas and oil company ExxonMobil says ceoworld.com. ExxonMobil is a gas station that was created in 1999. Exxon was a company that merged with another company named Mobil and became one. They were once the two biggest oil companies and now are the biggest! Also, right now they are ranked third, based on the profit they make and they get $6 billion a year! According to Nasdaq, “ The company was responsible for the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Prince William Sound, Alaska in 1989”

1. Walmart

According to Fortune 500, “Walmart is the number one company in the US. Walmart is a place where people go to buy groceries, home decor, electronics, toys, and anything you need.” It is not a surprise that Walmart is the number one company in the US. The founder of Walmart is Sam Walton and he opened the first Walmart in 1950. Walmart tried to be successful in Germany but didn’t succeed. 

All these companies are awesome and I am not surprised they are in the top 5 companies in the US. These companies really help our community and I hope that they stay with us for a long time, or forever. I hope that you learned something new that you didn’t know before.
