Have you ever been in a situation where you feel like if you don’t make the right decision”, everything is going to go wrong? Nothing would be the same if I didn’t play in this tournament a couple weeks ago! Volleyball is an intense sport. You don’t know how crazy it is until you’re actually on the court and playing against a good team. Now you will see all about my Epic Volleyball Tournament.

At the beginning of the tournament, when we were arriving, I noticed that no cars had arrived yet because we were so early. When cars started to pull in after a while I noticed one of my friends’ cars from Topeka. I got super excited because I also figured out after checking the bracket that we got to play them.

After playing 3 games against pretty good teams our record was 3-0. Now, this is where it starts to get fun, because we get to play my friends team. And they hadn’t lost yet either. She goes to Washburn Rural which is the Emporia Spartans rival team. So, if we beat them, we would have a lot of bragging rights because we usually don’t win against a team like that.

It’s the semi final game right before the championship game and it’s tied 16-16. This game will determine whether we are in the championship game or her team is. Soon enough after we ended up winning a very close game. It was so exciting and intense. It was probably one of the best games our team has played. We worked together and talked a lot. When you do all of that it really is so much fun.

We ended up winning the tournament without even losing one game. It was so much fun playing a team that I actually knew people on. Sadly it was our last club volleyball tournament but there will be many more next year and years to go. Volleyball is by far my favorite sport and I encourage you to try it out and see if you like it. Or, if you already play it, then encourage you to keep doing it.
