You may have wondered before why you cannot have your phone during the school day at Emporia Middle School. According to Sydney Hanson, “Ok, I think not having phones during school sucks because if your class is not interesting or you need to contact your parents and it’s really important, then you can’t contact your parents. Also, the only way to contact someone is to email them, and when you get an email on Gmail, it doesn’t notify you on your school computer. Also, most teachers I’ve met don’t let you email during class or anything, and sometimes they don’t even let you check it. That is why I think that not having phones during school sucks.” And personally, I think it helps some people to have a break from being on their phones all the time. But it could also make some people have FOMO, which is the fear of missing out with friends from other towns and schools.
