Is there a type of frosting you wish you knew how to make for Christmas cookies? Or wish you were eating it right now? Today I will be telling you about the top best frosting to put on Christmas cookies.
At the bottom of my list is dark chocolate frosting. Well first it made my list so obviously it is delicious. The person who invented it was Samual German. According to this site, “Dark chocolate frosting typically includes butter, powdered sugar, cocoa powder (dark/Dutch-process), and a liquid (heavy cream or milk) for texture, plus vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, with some recipes also incorporating melted dark chocolate for intense flavor, or even cream cheese or coffee for depth.” It makes my mouth water just reading it. It’s so good for you too! It made my list because dark chocolate frosting on Christmas cookies delicious.
The fourth one that made my list is regular chocolate frosting. The person who invented it is Mrs. Gorge Clay. The ingredients that are inside are butter, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, milk/cream, and vanilla extract. It made my list because of its classic flavor and popularity. It is also very classic to put on Christmas cookies, but it’s more commonly used in the batter rather than on top of it.
Next on my list is cream cheese. The person who invented cream cheese was William A. Lawrence. According to this site, “pasteurized milk, cream, salt, and a cheese culture (lactic acid bacteria), with added stabilizers like guar gum or locust bean gum for texture and shelf life, plus optional preservatives like sorbic acid.” I know it may seem weird with those ingredients in it, but trust me, you would love it. It made my list because of its texture, its chunky but enough to make it melt in your mouth. I put it on my list because of the texture, and it’s also traditional to put in other Christmas foods including cookies.
First on my list is German chocolate frosting. German chocolate frosting was made by Samual German, the same person who made dark chocolate frosting. According to this site,
“evaporated milk, butter, egg yolks, sugar, vanilla, shredded coconut, and chopped pecans.” are ingredients in German chocolate frosting. German chocolate frosting is one of my favorites because of the pecans in it, but might not be all people’s favorite. I believe that if you’re willing to put cookies out for Santa, this is the type of frosting he would want -wink wink-.
Last, but not least, butter cream. Butter cream was invented by a French chef, I don’t know the exact name of the inventor, but I do know they were French, and a chef. The ingredients in it are heavy cream, salted butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. This is number one on my list because I believe all Christmas joy comes from a little drop of sugar (Buttercream), and a little buttercream on top of those melty Christmas cookies you’ve been working on for thirty minutes, will be the peak of your day.
Well, that’s a wrap…literally. Your Christmas cookies are all wrapped up to share with everyone to spread Christmas cheer. If you want to spread Christmas cheer, take out those ingredients and start to bake away. Here is a basic sugar cookie recipe according to this site,
“1 cup (225g or 2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup (200g) granulated white sugar
1/4 cup (55g) packed light brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 large egg
2 1/4 cups (315g) all-purpose flour
