Have you ever been scared to watch a show? Or that you saw the previews for a show and thought “I’m never going to watch this!” Or maybe you have watched a scary show that was perfect for you. Well, I have too! Today I will show you shows that are scaled from -do not watch this scary show, to this is just right for you-.
The Haunting of Hill House
I have only watched half an episode because it was too scary for me, but If I had to rate this show from one being it’s not scary at all, to ten being it will give you really bad nightmares, I would rate it a 8.7. According to this site, “The Haunting of Hill House (both the original 1959 novel by Shirley Jackson and the 2018 Netflix series) is a psychological gothic horror story focused on how a malevolent, sentient house psychologically destroys a group of people. It explores themes of deep grief, inherited trauma, dysfunctional family dynamics, and whether the supernatural events are real or hallucinations.” The mood of this show is ‘everyone is watching you, ‘ along with whatever you do that may kill you. I would DEFINITELY not recommend this show if you can’t handle anything scary.
Black Summer
I have only watched 1 episode, but if I had to rate this show from one being it’s not scary at all, to ten being it will give you really bad nightmares, I would rate it a 7.3. According to this site,“Black Summer is a gritty Netflix zombie thriller series focusing on the initial, chaotic days of an undead apocalypse. It follows a mother, Rose (Jaime King), separated from her daughter, as she navigates a dangerous, collapsing society alongside other survivors to reach a safe zone.” The mood of this show is “never look back or else.” I would only recommend this show if you can handle gory things, because there is a lot of blood and… eating people.
Stranger things
I have watched this show, so If I had to rate this show from one being it’s not scary at all, to ten being it will give you really bad nightmares, I would rate it a 5.5 because if you can’t stand scary shows, it might not be for you, but if you like scary shows this is the perfect happy medium. According to this site, “Stranger Things is a Netflix sci-fi horror series set in 1980s Indiana, focusing on a group of friends, a determined mother (Winona Ryder), and a police chief (David Harbour) uncovering government conspiracies and supernatural threats. When a young boy vanishes, they discover a parallel dimension called the “Upside Down” and a girl with telekinetic powers named Eleven.” The mood and feeling of this show is a mix of “your kid ran away to a bad place, and turned into a super natural, horror, loving, monster.” If you’re into a mystery show with a tad bit of horror in it, this one is for you.
In my opinion, I enjoy a good horror show if it’s entertaining and is a show I could rewatch over and over again. If you enjoyed this one, come back next week for more shows to take up your time. Here is the trailer for Stranger Things.
