Have you wondered what advice your very own couch at EMS has for you and your teammates? Keep reading because I interviewed Megan Van Sickle (Volleyball & Track), Alissa Williams (Long Jump (track & field)
How do you stay positive with your team when things get tough? Coach Van Sickle said, “Everyday is a new beginning, when things get tough you have to show perseverance to your athletes. As coaches we are role models and the leaders of our teams. It is up to us to keep things positive and never give up on our athletes”. I asked Coach Williams What’s something you wish more athletes understood about training or practice? She said, “I wish more athletes would take practice as seriously as they take the actual competitions. I think that the more athletes can practice how they want to perform the better they will be when the time comes to show what they’re made of!”.
Thank you coaches for your time. I loved all of those answers. I hope this helped anyone’s questions. If you have any story ideas for Ask A Spartan, let me or someone who works on The Sound know. Tune in next week because your story idea could be next!
