Are you a 7th grader? Or are you going to be a 7th grader soon? If so, I asked two 7th-grade teachers if they had some advice for 7th graders, and this is what they said. First, I asked Ms.Acevedo, the silver team math teacher, if she had any advice for 7th graders.
Q:”Hi this is Callia, and I was wondering if you had any advice for 7th graders?”
A”My advice for 7th graders would be:
Every choice has a consequence. Great choices have rewards, while bad choices can produce negative results. You have the authority to choose!”
Then I asked Ms.Burkett, a math teacher on orange, if she had any advice for 7th graders.
Q:”Hi this is Callia Foraker and I was wondering if you had any advice for 7th graders?”
A:”I think some of the best advice I could give is to participate in your learning. Ask questions, practice, pay attention to explanations, and do your work. I am a big believer that if you put the effort in, you will be successful, even if it is difficult. A quick tip I have for students, if you don’t have your math facts memorized, do that. There are so many games and apps you can download directly to your phone to get some practice each day. I promise that if you know your math facts, the rest of the math you learn will be a lot easier.”
Ms. Acevedo and Ms.Burkett had some amazing advice. Make sure to follow it, and if you see Ms.Acevedo or Ms.Burkett in the hallway, make sure to say hi.
