While most people who go to the fair and spend time eating funnel cakes and enjoying the thrill of the rides, for 4-H members, the whole week is a complete mess. Early mornings, hard work, and lots of dedication and practice. But what about trying to keep you sane so you don’t turn out flipping your food dish like the pigs? Here are some fair necessities to keep you from losing your mind.
Number 5. Portable charger
At number 5 is a portable charger. It will help you keep your phone charged so that you don’t have to go without your games and your scrolling session. It is also good that you spend some time away from devices but it is great and needed for communication. It is also a great way to pass time.
Number 4. Water/ Cooler
Number 4 on my list is a cooler. This is very important because it will be very hot outside and water will help you be cold and refreshing. At the fairgrounds there is also a drink cart but if you bring your own water from home, it is a lot more accessible.
Number 3. Wallet/ Money
The 3rd thing on my list is Wallet/ Money. Having money is something that you don’t need but you can’t ever resist those 3 dollar funnel cakes. You can also buy sodas from the drink stand and in order to get into events like the rodeo which also cost money.
Number 2. Chair
The 2nd most needed item is a chair. A chair is very relieving after being on your feet all day. While I like to sit on the fence, it is a lot more comfortable to sit in a bag or folding chair. Also very useful for nap taking.
Number 1. Practice bull and rope
Number 1 on my list of necessities is a practice bull and rope. While there are a lot of things to pass time… This has got to be at the top of my list. It is great to get some practice in and if you have a person with you, you can do team roping.
If you don’t want to end up like the pig sleeping in woodchips, and have a horrible sleep schedule then it is very recommended to keep your cool with the necessities on this list to get you through a fair weekend.
