Did you know the first lure ever created dates back to 2000 BC?
Hello everyone! And welcome to my first beat story, where I will be talking about everything fishing! And in today’s beat, I will be going over 3 different types of lures: Topwater, Diving lure, and bottom lures! Even mentioning some lures I love, and recommend to beginners and experts!
Topwater Lures
Topwater lures are used by lots of fishermen, and as years passed, more and more have been made. Whilst they can really be used in Summer, and early Fall. Most topwater lures make a buzzing noise, or “plop.” They have various styles and names, the most popular ones called the ‘Whopper Plopper, and the Buzzbait.’ This is my #2 pick for my top 3.
Diving Lures
Diving lures are definitely my #1. The best diving lure I know is the Beetle spin. No matter where you are, you will catch fish big and small. I have caught various species and sizes using it. There are not only different brands, but a wide variety of diving lures. Another GREAT one is a crankbait. They are amazing, and have caught me massive fish!
Bottom Lures
These lures stay at the bottom of ponds, lakes, rivers, etc. Bottom baits aren’t my go to. But when it starts getting cold, fish go deeper, so I recommend them in late fall, through early/mid winter. Some of these lures include spoons. An egg-shaped shiny piece with a treble hook. Or a ‘soft plastic’ with a weight. Jigs also fall into this category.
What’s your favorite of these three? Mine is either topwater or diving. Now we decide which of these is the best. Topwater can only be used from Spring through late Summer or early Fall. Diving lures can be used pretty much year-round, if ponds don’t freeze over. And diving baits work best when fish go deeper in late Fall/Winter. I personally think diving lures are the best as they can be used year-round. Make sure to keep fishing!
