“Saddle your dreams before you ride em” -Mary Webb, I find that quote very interesting because some people just need to not overthink and go for their dream. My dream was to have a horse and to be able to ride it. Now I have horse, but I need a saddle. So today, we are going to talk about saddle brands. I am going to rank them not so good to the best! Stay till the last saddle brand!
Tucker Saddles: These saddles come in mostly black and brown. The most expensive ones in their shop are $4,000-5,000 and their cheapest is $3,000-4,000. Pros: Their Trail Features are awesome that come with many rings and strings to help carry your things. Cons: The padding on the seat may make you feel like you are higher up off the horse. So I rate this a 3/5.
Circle Y: The colors they have available are Walnut, Regular Oil, Black, Chestnut, and Chocolate. The most expensive saddle they sell is between $6,000-7000 and the cheapest is between $1,000-2000. Pros: They have special padding to make it more comfortable for the horse. Cons: On certain horses, some of their saddles may slide or shift depending on the size of your horse. So I rate this 3.5/5
Martin Saddlery: You can get these saddles in natural chestnut and chocolate colors. For a custom saddle it may cost between $6,000 and $5,000, and the cheapest one I could find was between $1,500 and $2,500. Pros: It is easy to adjust for a better fit for the rider and the horse. Cons: For their custom saddles it may take up to a year to ship. I would rate them a 4/5
Genuine Billy Cook: hot oil, russet, chestnut, chocolate, and black stain. The most expensive is $4,000-5000 and the cheapest is between $3,000-$3,500. Pros: These saddles are handcrafted in the U.S which will help with a longer-lasting saddle. Most of the saddles are made to be comfortable to both you and your horse. Cons: Most of them are quite heavy, weighing up to 40lbs. But I rate this saddle company my favorite. So it has to be a 5/5!
So, in conclusion, every saddle brand has something to offer. Tucker saddles are awesome for trail rides, and Circle Y is better for the horses’ comfort. In the end, it is just what helps you and your horse feel the safest and most comfortable! Tune in next time for more about horses, keep riding!
