Have you ever wondered what is happening in Mrs.Slup’s mind when it comes to bowling? We will find out why she decided to become the bowling coach, and what she liked while working at a bowling alley, and find out if it is hard balancing being a science teacher and a bowling coach. Also, what is her favorite method of bowling?

Q.When did you start bowling? 

A.My town got a bowling alley, and I was in like fourth grade. So that was just something that my family and I would do for fun.

Q.What did you like about working in a bowling alley? 

A. I’ve worked at a bowling alley in a couple of different ways. One of them is that I got to clean the lanes and learn how lane maintenance was kept. And that was really cool. And then I’ve also worked at the bowling alley as the bowling coach. And my favorite part about that was getting to spend time with my bowlers and just watching you guys improve.

Q.When did you start coaching bowling for the school?

A.I started coaching bowling last year. Last year was my first year teaching and coaching.

Q.Is it hard balancing being a science teacher and also being a coach?

A.It can be. I got really, really good at writing sub plans for my classes because we were gone a lot. So that’s difficult. And not getting to be with my students can be challenging, but it’s worth it because I get to have fun in the evenings with you guys. So yeah, we had a lot of fun when we went to bowling alleys.

Q.What did you like about going to all the bowling alleys we went to?

A. I always like to see the different ways that they set up the bowling alleys, because every bowling alley is the same in terms of the lanes where you bowl, but then all of them have their own little quirks.

Q.What is your favorite method of Bowling? It could be two-handed or one-handed

A.I prefer one-handed bowling. I never could get behind the two-handed bowling.  I’m interested in it, but I don’t know if you spin the ball when you throw it, or if you push it. I can’t figure it out, so I don’t do it.

Q.What is something you like about one-handed Bowling?

A.It’s really easy to find tips and tricks online on one-handed bowling because it’s the one

that’s been used the most frequently. Yeah. So if I’m ever like, oh, I’m not throwing the ball the

way I want to, I can get online and find a video and have somebody tell me what I’m doing

wrong.

Q.What do you think is harder, one-handed or two-handed?

A.Two-handed. I can’t do it. Yeah, I felt like that was way harder because I just see how Jordy just does it. I’m like, how does he do it that easily?
